I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in this music generation. The sixties and early 70s were magical times.

For those of us that are Boomers, we witnessed greatness back in our youth. Never to be seen or heard again in our lifetime.

I was so lucky as a young teen when I got to see the Yardbirds with Keith, Jimmy, and Jeff, all together. Never realizing I just witnessed greatness…. ✌️❤️

I am saddened every time I see a video of the Yardbirds with Keith Relf at the helm. I admired (and still do) his ability to sing and play wonderful blues harp the way he did … my admiration further heightened when I found out he suffered of chronic asthma and emphysema which left him with only one working lung. His untimely death left a big void in the world of rock and blues. R.I.P. Keith you are a legend ♡

What a talent Keith Relf was. Great voice and harmonica player. He died too young.

I don’t think that too many people at that time could imagine where Jimmy Page was taking rock music. With Led Zeppelin he would show them.

It's like watching Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future when he plays the guitar. Then the crowd just stares in disbelief and he says "you're not ready for this yet"!
Jimmy Page is from another planet!!

These Beat Club performances are priceless, actually live, not lip-synced. It is 1967 but the German kids are still dressed like 1965-66. Great at every level.

I miss hearing this stuff on the radio. The stations we listen to today think that they know what we want to hear. But they don't even have a clue.

I think David Bowie heard them playing this and thought - Gene Genie?

I guess it is true: Only the good die young. Keith Relf was what, 30? The greatest harp player of his time, and a blues-wailing singing voice. Kids today have no idea.

This was an awesome performance by them. They were all on top of that song. First time I saw it just now and I noticed Jimmy's guitar. That guitar has a history of it's own...I believe he used that guitar on a lot of his studio session work with other artists when he was doing them. Keith is just amazing here. He got it fired up and it didn't stop. A great front man...RIP Keith.
