How to Dock a Pontoon Boat

Pontoon boats may be big (and sometimes a bit lethargic), but docking them is very doable.

In this video, Ray Fernandez of Bridge Marina demonstrates how to pull a pontoon boat into a dock slip by "bumping" in and out of gear, using reverse when needed, and taking it slow.

My wife had to drive to the dock the other day (Sunday, crowded!) while I was getting the truck. Her FIRST time and she did fine ! Learned by watching me. I learned by watching these docking videos !!

Thanks for the video. Long time boater but just bought a pontoon and leased a slip at a marina. Mine will be going in from the port side. I wanted a starboard entrance but they were all rented.

This is the best demonstration I’ve seen thank you. Any adjustments to this process when wind and current are working against you? We have a tight slip with boat lift and have boats on both sides of a narrow fairway.

Just got a 23 ft tritoon, and I must say that backing my 40ft 5th wheel into a campsite is easier! 🤣🤣

Do all of you guys nose your toons in? I’ve tried it now in and bow out. My marina has narrow fairways. The wind can be a problem. Trying to figure out what’s best. We have a 24’ tritoon with a long kickout on the stern

I have a 25’ tritoon and I always start my turn as I’m turning into the slip before mine and then do basically everything he just did except I don’t have to make several corrections like he did. It usually takes 1 turn in, 1 bump in reverse with the wheel fully turned back and then straight into the slip with the wheel turned forward.

Not me trying to learn how to use a pontoon before I go up north. Say a prayer

Would be perfect if not for that obnoxious music.
