The reason that future Barry made that face is because he knew he was about to create a flashpoint

Its because originally the flash had both his parents alive but reverse flash wanted to make him suffer so killed his parents. The reason he took over Harrison Wells is to ensure Barry still becomes the Flash because if he doesn't, RF doesn't exist. The future barry is the one trying to stop thawne but fails, resulting a different timeliness which is the one in the show (before flashpoint).
He told the past one to stop because then the future changes even more
