I like to imagine Danielson requested Lawler as his opponent. Lawler doesn't get the respect he deserves from the modern generation for his in-ring work with his commentary work almost overshadowing it. He was called the King for a reason.

Bryan Danielson is easily one of the top 5 BEST in ring workers of ALL TIME. Flawless and amazingly talented. His body of in-ring work cannot be equaled by just about anyone.

2012 Danielson vs. 1983 Lawler in the Mid-South Colliseum could have been really good.
