How Good Was CM Punk's 434 Day Reign? (2011-2013)

2011 is the year that everyone looks back at and remember's how much of an impact CM Punk made in the wrestling landscape. He brought in so many lapsed fans with his contract storyline, he did some of the best mic work ever and put on one of the biggest matches in WWE history against John Cena. But after all of that: the return, the undisputed title match, and him getting cashed in on, his run was a little screwed up. But once he regained the title he went on a run of absolute dominance.

In this video I take a look at CM Punk's 434 day WWE Championship reign. This reign was record breaking for many reasons and is looked back on as one of CM Punk's biggest impacts on pro wrestling. So was reign really that good?

Hope you enjoy and don't forget to leave a subscribe and drop a like!

He was literally getting screwed by the company month after month. He was the reason everyone was watching to begin with.

Wwe just treated him like garbage even though he carried the company. He should've won the 2014 royal rumble and main evented wrestlemania 30

It was pretty good overall, I think Punk proved he wasn't just another transitional champion.

Punk didn’t need Heyman, but having a manager helped stay heel and not get cheered

Not to mention, Cena vs. Rock vs. Punk for the WWE Championship made story sense since Cena was taking on two people he has never managed to beat. Facing the Rock, a man who he lost to and set him on a downward spiral in his life and facing CM Punk, someone who proved to be his greatest rival and his equal.

Punk losing to Rocky was the start of Vince's hard on for part timers being the main champion...

Chris Jericho was my favourite feud for CM Punk in that Title Reign.

Damn I just realized WWE died with CM Punk leaving.

The ending of it was poorly executed, cuz it left Punk high & dry for Wrestlemania. They basically squeezed in the Taker match at the last minute. He deserved better, but because Dwayne is Dwayne is elevated himself while shitting on someone else

His title run was great, it was fresh and I got hyped when he turned heel, in my opinion it was the better half of his reign. On top of that Punk as well as Daniel Bryan paved the way and opened the door for most of the WWE talent seen today.

After Edge's initial retirement, Punk was literally the only thing keeping me interested in the WWE . The Cena agenda during that time was just impossible to sit through as a teenager and Punk being disrespected like that was the last straw

His run as a champ was epic..better than most of the goats in the HISTORY of wrestling

That Cm punk era was honestly one of those Eras you had to literally live through & watch on a week to week bases to see how amazing it was . I was 11 yrs glued to Monday night raw cause of him & he definitely solidified himself as one of my GOAT wrestlers ❗️alongside Chris Jericho ofc

It's just basically CM Punk was always overshadowed by John Cena

Punks reign was legendary. He paved more way for smaller superstars, got national attention on pro wrestling not for roids or death, and had popularity of his own. Ryback's streak shouldn't be been put up against punks reign. Cena and The Rocks match was already big and didn't need the Wwe championship involved.
Punk vs Undertaker with the title on the line giving taker the win and title would've been the perfect way to end it as well as Award undertaker a victory even if he dropped it days later.
