A follow up!
After playing this a bit more after the video, I think going Sword and Board is actually a great strat for this character. Building into a holy shield paladin is really fun, as shields are already very strong, and you can then augment it with a lot of faith should you wish.
Additionally you can go super mage with a scepter and incantations in the left hand for both buffs and range should you want that instead, but either way I do suggest getting some endurance so you can wear some chunky armor.
I'd highly suggest after this guide ends getting 20 to vit and 20 to end, as that will last you a very long while, then just farm some great armor and decide if you want to be more of a holy spell knight or a holy shield knight.

Oh man this is incredible. I have a good 25+ hours into this game and I've been struggling with many of the enemies, especially the great foes. if you want to kill the knight on the bridge try to bait it so it falls off, you can fall off with it too and get ur runes still

Great vid! Time saving tip, there is a gold pickled fowl foot on the way to pick up the morning star. Check a ridge overlooking the caravan by waypoint ruins, there should be some guards keeping watch over the road

One of the best videos I've seen for Elden Ring. Even after the nerf The Sword is still awesome to mess with. I'm fairly new to the confessor build but so far enjoying it more than the Vagabond

For the knight, the poison trap does not work now. Few other guides showed setting time to night and then climbing up the tree. The knight either gets stuck under the tree and you can get some blows in or you just hope he falls off the ledge.

Trying to replicate, I was just hopping around frantically with Torrent to climb up the tree, too afraid of getting killed getting killed. So i either fell off the ledge or got killed one shot by the knight. 😅
So this time, i just passed time at the grace to set it to noon and then climbed up the tree. I was hoping to just stay atop the tree till night and let the knight appear. But I had to go away for few minutes, so just left the game there. Came back after 10 min, the knight had fallen off the bridge and i had 42k runes and an Ash of War. 😂😂😂

edit: it still works but the trick that was taught from the night knight with the poison no longer works so the solution is to knock him off the cliff or bridge
