Speaking at Trust Conference, TIME'S UP CEO and President Tina Tchen said there is still much to be done to unleash the economic potential of women, despite the changes in culture and even legislation triggered by the #MeToo movement.

She argues that closing the gender gap wouldn't just help women, but also boost global economies by trillions of dollars and close the gap between rich and poor.

Founded in response to the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal that rocked Hollywood in January 2018, TIME'S UP works to create a society free of gender-based discrimination in the workplace and beyond.

Prior to her current role, Tchen worked as a lawyer on issues relating to gender inequity, sexual harassment and lack of diversity in workplaces. In 2011 she worked as an assistant to President Barack Obama and later served as Chief of Staff to the First Lady, Michelle Obama.
