A week dedicated to celebrating our police staff - Prevention First

As we continue to celebrate our police staff, today we are showcasing the work of Nicola from the Prevention First team.

Nicola and her team are responsible for rolling out training across the force, ensuring that everyone is equipped and supported to apply a preventative approach to their daily work.

Nicola joined the constabulary 18 months ago, coming from Broxbourne Safety Community Partnership where she already worked closely with police in her role as Community Safety Manager.

She has been involved in the delivery of the constabulary’s initial Leading for Prevention course to 750 leaders, including managers and supervisors, across the force, as well as to the Chief Constable himself.

This year, practitioner training to the entire workforce, regardless of role or rank, is being rolled out starting with Intervention and Local Crime Unit colleagues. All staff will also be invited to this training as the roll out continues.

Nicola and her team have also been busy visiting stations and departments to further spread the Prevention First message and offer support.
