This scenario makes sense, House is a pragmatic fellow, if he doesn't have the means to fully control the Mojave he'll just side with the faction most beneficial to him. I think if this were to happen, his plan of sending colony ships to space would eventually happen, just take a longer time. He'll slowly build up his assets within the NCR and continue along, its not ideal since he'll be under taxes, but it's better than death.

The game definitely would have benifited from keeping this plotline. The first time I ever sided with the NCR I destroyed houses army and expected this exact outcome. I was disappointed when i found out I just had to kill him.

I love how the pause when the securitron says “voluntarily” captures Mr. House’s sneering sarcasm and contempt.

House is a businessman, not a "do-or-die"kind of guy. He would've found a way to continue his aspirations of space colonization from within the NCR, maybe even benefit from government funding the way SpaceX does today.

House is easily one of the most interesting characters in any game. He sure as hell isn’t a protagonist but it’s hard to call him an antagonist also

IIRC this was cut because the devs didn’t think it matched House’s personality, which I think tracks. However, I think that a (very) high speech or barter check should unlock this possibility: talk House down from his ego/emotions and think rationally, and from his now much weaker position, this is his best option

The game was released 12 years ago, and still continues to amaze. New Vegas deserves a full remake with the restoration of cut content more than anyone else.

I hate to choose between them.

Let House run New Vegas as his own little kingdom and let NCR manage the rest of the Mojave. I truly believe that House could deliver his promise to revive the tech industry. My complaint with him is that he is a singular entity with no real plans for the continuation of his empire after he's gone.

On one hand he'd probably have too much pride to do that, on the other hand tho, it is indeed in his main interests. After his army is destroyed he can't do much by himself, so it's either that or he loses ALL power over Vegas and gets killed

It makes sense. With the Securitron force limited to the police garrison, House would have to pull back on his ambitions. Even the upgrades wouldn't be enough with the comparatively limited numbers involved.

House seems to have done very well for himself in the pre-war US: a big fish in a very very big pond. If he’s in the NCR, then he’s a big fish in a medium pond.

Give him a few electoral cycles, and he’d be pulling the strings.

I wish this wasn't cut because Mr. House is one of my favorite character, and I hate having to kill him to achieve every ending but his own.

Maybe some of our brilliant modders can gather what's left of this cut ending and piece together a mod out of it. There's already a Brotherhood-House alliance mod (more like a truce, actually), so why not an NCR-House one?

This would have been so damn nice as part of the main questline as I liked House to some extent plus having him as part of the NCR PLUS getting the NCR and the Mojave BoS to ally would make the NCR literally unstoppable.

I imagine Mr House has underlying plans with this scenario. I can see him deciding to scale back his operations and by giving the strip to the NCR he can focus entirely on colonizing space

Man, this game has so many things cut out. Still a masterpiece. Wish this stayed! Would give me a reason not to murder him playthrough.

MAN wish there was a mod to reimplement this.
And add on some extra quests for this option.
