Driving Tour of Petersburg National Battlefield - Eastern Front

Since I have never been to the Petersburg National Battlefield - Eastern Front, we decided to take a driving tour. It is located in Petersburg, VA. There were several battles in the area during the American Civil War. The one we toured was the Eastern Front. It is the site of the Seige of Petersburg. It was the longest military event of the Civil War, which lasted nine and half months, took the lives of 70,000 and it was where Gen. Ulysses S. Grant of the Union Army cut off all of Petersburg's supply lines ensuring the fall of Richmond on April 3, 1865.
