Yep, as a female, do not want to sit next to someone not adequately clothed, not a prude, just don't want others bodily moisture or parts slip out and around.

I used to work for sky chef LSG. I can confirm that the ice and water used on service carts doesn't come from any on board tank. Bagged Ice is brought on in a cooler tray and is stored in the service carts. Coffee and tea is made from bottled water. Sky chef services: delta, Hawaiian, southwest, united, American and other airlines. I used to pack those carts.

Back in the day, flying was considered a semi-formal event, we wore new dresses and shiny shoes, brother in a new shirt and long pants, mom and dad dressed conservatively, manners were expected all around. It was a pleasant experience.

I have no problem with passengers clapping at the end of the flight. It's a show of appreciation for the entire crew for a pleasant flight and job well done. Plus, these are happy people looking forward to their vacations. No different than when you are at a restaurant and give a nice tip because of great service and cuisine. 😎🤟

That woman didn't have enough clothing on. Probably the rear exposure was enough to cause health concerns for the next person who would sit in that seat

The guy who hacked the PA system should’ve rickrolled the flight

FYI, As I have been a Cabin Crew and working at the Airport now, Cabin Crew does not clean airplanes after landing. We have a special cleaning crew to clean airplanes and prepare them for take off with the new departing crew.

Some people feel entitled and act horrible because the airlines let people get away with some of it over the years.

In early 1990s, the airlines i flew didnt tolerate peoples entitlement. They were removed from plane.

I'm "old school"; it seems that when folks were expected to dress-up to travel, they behaved better. Even "business casual" set a tone for restrained manners. And this affected travel on planes, buses, and trains, alike.

I typically blow the air vent right in my face. I will use multiple ones if others aren’t seated around me. To me, airplanes can be a little claustrophobic, so having cool air on my face helps relieve that feeling for me.

FA taught me this. When suffering from air pressure in your ears, hold your nose and take a deep breath and try to blow your nose. You will feel a pop in your ears. Keep blowing until you do. I was get extreme pain from that pressure. Thanks FA. He also gave me a small bottle of genuine Saki.

Back in 1992, some friends and I were flying from London Heathrow to Gutersloh in Germany. When the check-in lady asked one of the guys "are you carrying anything in your luggage for anyone else?" my mate replied, "no all that cocaine is my own". She had a major sense of humour failure and within minutes we were surrounded by armed police officers and a plain clothes detective. They messed us around for 30 minutes or so but after apologising profusely we were allowed to board the flight. Never again.

In my time when Pan Am was still in service, flying was considered a luxury and people boarded the planes with best of behaviors and gratitudes especially wearing formal or semi formal outfits. The services, food, drinks and tokens from the flights were one of the best qualities and memories of the times will not be faded and forgotten for my generations.
Flying then was an unique experience not everyone could have as people do now.

I'm just glad that the guy who hacked the PA didn't have any goals other than to annoy the passengers and crew. It's really scary to think that any devices on a plane can be hacked. Even annoying the pilots could be really dangerous since they need to be in full focus flying the plane. Luckily no one was hurt.

‘Accidently’ spilling a cup of hot coffee would probably solve a lot of these problems of bare feet on your armrest.

BUT, why do immigrants not follow the clothing rule, and dress as we do here? Yet we are to support 'their' ways?

The water tanks are cleaned regularly, and all the water used on a plane is filtered. My aunt was a flight attendant for 37 years. The major airlines keep up with that stuff. Idk about all the smaller and independent airlines. Also, clapping when a plane lands is like a thank you to the pilots for landing safely! It’s mostly a relief clap. The most dangerous parts of flying are take off and landing. So clapping is like, “thank god we landed safely!”
