Fun fact: Dante's "Divine Comedy" is called a comedy not because it is funny. Back then "comedy" means a story that has a happy ending.

I’m interested to know why Dante thought that one who wasn’t baptised would go to limbo. The thief being crucified beside Jesus who accepted the faith was never baptised, yet Jesus told him “Surely today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Rod Serling had interesting ideas about Hell. In one episode of "The Twilight Zone, " a thief died and went to a place where he was given a mansion, women, and winning every card game he played. He got bored winning all the time. He said to his guide, "I want to go to that other place where there are some challenges. After all it is the thrill of the chase." (He assumed he was in Heaven.) The guide laughed and said, "This is that other place!"

I loved how in Dante's inferno he goes around seeing blood guts torture and the worst pain you could possibly ever feel and all he's ususlly gotta say about it is: cool, who's that?

I have been to Hell. I was in a coma due to covid treatment. I experienced Hell. I was in a dark plain. I was cold (though this was probably from the ice the doctors were using to reduce my fever.) In the distance, I could see a light like the glow of a far-off city seen at night. I knew that I was seeing the light of God's love but that I was never going to be able to approach that light. I knew that I was separated from God's love forever. This is the worst torment you can imagine.

But eventually, someone (I think it was the Holy Spirit) told me that I was one of Christ's sheep and that no one could take one of His sheep away from Jesus. I think this is when I started to recover.

The doctors did not think I could possibly survive. For days, they had been telling my family that I would surely die that day. It was their opinion that I was too far gone to ever come out of the coma. I think it was the visit from the Holy Spirit that turned things around for me.

I am not scared of death, I am scared of Hell.

if I'm not mistaken, Sulfur itself is capable of blinding people for periods of time.
Hell could be described as "dark" due to it's inhabitants *literally* being blinded for all of eternity.

I've been to hell. It's called Caesar's Pizza near closing time on a Saturday night. That's fucking hell.

It is kinda weird that Dante’s hell is actually more reminiscent of the Buddhist idea of hell than the Christian hell.

As a Christian, this video *terrified* me to my core. I’ve always been intensely scared of death, mainly because I don’t wanna go to a place where I burn for all eternity.

I know hell. It’s being hit by a drunk driver while driving home with your wife of 17 years of happiness .Spending 23 days in a coma, only to wake up and being told your wife didn’t survive. And on top of that, missing her funeral because you were in a coma. Then only to fully recover and spending the next 4 years alone. And after all that time alone, you decide to try dating because you don’t want to be alone anymore. But you’re rejected by every woman because you’re not tall, athletic, and a scruff beard like women want. You see then, in your 40’s women are all superficial and you are destined to spend the second half of your life alone.

After playing Dante's inferno, it really made me worry about doing all those sins I committed many years ago.

I had a shroom trip where i hallucinated Dante’s inferno while trying to navigate and exit this unorganized music festival in the blistering Texas heat. Craziest trip of my life, I thought i had died.
