The elephant's head does move. That is my mistake. Sorry guys! However, I still think the mammoth is cooler for the other reasons with how unique it is.

To be honest, I would have put the Minifigure German Shepherd dog on the list as it was the first dog which was recognisably based on a real breed, as before that you had a generic one, and since then we've had definite breed since then. That said, when Lego brought out the Golden Retriever I got one to add to my Lego town in memory of my old pet would had just passed away at the age of 14 and 3 months, so I get why you added it to the list!

I wish lego made more animal molds.
Like giraffes, gazelles, hyenas, wolves, kangaroos, hippos, rhinos etc.
Also you may have missed the cow mold. Sounds silly but it’s a great mold. Especially the Holstein cow mold 🐄🐄

I totally agree about the old monkey being better! I wish Lego would do something similar again but with updated printing, the old one just has so much poseability and personality over the new one!

You forgot the goat. Really rare and a great design.

I really want them to make a wolf mold from LEGO City. “LEGO City”, NO wargs, werewolves, three tailed wolves, legends of chima or mindcraft. Just a plain natural ordinary wolf figure as natural as the lions, elephants, crocodile, bears, tigers, and other animals from LEGO City. And no the husky figure does not count.

I believe it can be done, LEGO has been making figures of all these different dog breeds and has also really been blowing me away with what I think are pretty unique animal molds like the sabertooth and the mammoth along with the new elephants, male lions and cubs so I’m sure a wolf is possible.

My favorites are the elephants and mammoths because they are my favorite animals! They have some awesome mechanics and features so I’ll share those first. I really love the head mobility and the realistic shape of the heads. For the elephant I love the tusk diversity. You can put a water (or fire) piece on their trunk to make it appear as if they are spraying water. And the baby elephant is also the cutest little thing just like real life. Despite all of this I do have a few issues with them tho.
Ok so both lack leg mobility and the ability to raise their trunk or lower it are a little frustrating.
Now with the Mammoth. The woolly mammoth irl had curled, almost *U* shaped tusks, while the lego one has very long almost straight tusks (it’s not supposed to be the straight tusked palaeoloxodon).
Now onto the Elephant. I really do love the elephant, it’s my favorite (you can tell by the profile) but it definitely does have flaws. For one I wish it had some wrinkles and skin folds at least on the trunk, ears, and rear because as you know they are animals covered in wrinkles. Second the flat space on the side is a little annoying but doesn’t really bother me. Lastly the lack of colored toenails.(not important but I think they could have maybe made a slightly larger mold to represent a male elephant because the one now is the size of a female African elephant.)
I do again really love these animal molds and I would rate them an 8.8/10 and I use them in a LOT of my stop motions. Lego overall did a great job representing the beauty and majesty of these creatures 🐘🦣

I remember my cousin had the Prince of Persia set with the ostriches and I always thought the mold for those birds looked so cool

That husky bit was actually very interesting, I'd have never known now I want to find mine.

I absolutely love the new lego lions and elephants and I was absolutely thrilled when they released the lego sabertooth and mammoth which are typically my favorite animal figures but I would totally love it if lego came out with more Ice Age animals like woolly rhinos, giant ground sloths, glyptodons, etc. Yes I’m a big time fan of the Ice Age.

My personal favorite animal piece, is the newer alligator mold. I live in Florida, and they did good job representing them.

Great List! I really want Lego to make a Gorilla mould based off the Lego Worlds game or Lego Marvel Suuperheros ! That would be awesome!

I personally prefer the blue-eyed version of the husky that comes in the Snow Guardian CMF. Other animals that I love are:
- Akita from Ninjago
- the chameleon that comes in two colors: green and teal
- the mohawk version of the cat, especially the blue one from Monkie Kid
- Flounder from The Little Mermaid
- the Friends accessory pack 49595 that includes 12 small marine animals, 7 unique
- Ace the Bathound, Krypto the Superdog and Scooby Doo
- the skeletal horse (thestral) from Harry Potter
- the classic octopus with studded eyes

Disrespected the camel 🐪 and the goat 🐐and the ostrich. Probably the more coveted ones. I used to have the camel and two ostriches from the prince of Persia sets but a cousin of mine ripped me off when I was a kid. 🥲
