They kill you on the added charges. They add a additional charge for someone to pick your order, and thats sometimes more costly than the lego pieces your trying to buy.

Actually yes, because going on pick a brick to buy animals is still cheaper than getting them through the sets that i dont want or from ebay. Pick-a-brick is still good value

The 332 BP, boba fetts mech, and the mandalorian micro fighter (Naboo star fighter) all cost roughly the same price. I miss when I went to the dollar store as a kid it was better than the dollar stores today and I could get real LEGO non of that fake garbo for 6-8$ for a set equal in size as a micro fighter today

Pick a brick is great for new rare parts, where bricklink overcharges. Otherwise BrickLink is better. Or if you need variety of pieces which cannot fit in one BL seller.
