Thank you Dr, O'Loughlin! I spent all day using other "tutorials" that did not work. Yours did, thank you and good work.

I spent 2 hours trying to make one using some online guides which refused to work. Took about 5 minutes after watching this. Thanks, much appreciated.

This was brilliant and useful! Thank you! I am in an office where they have yet to upgrade software and I was certain I'd never be able to do a gantt chart!

Hi Looly,

I've never tried this, but it sounds like you need to change the format of the date cell type. Right click on the date cell and choose to display the date with the year. It should work then.

Hope this helps.

Hi PrimeAdvisory - first, many thanks for watching my video.

There is no way that I know of to do this in Excel - you many need a formal Project Management tool like MS Project. You could try to add the two days of the weekend as a task, and do this for every weekend of your project.

Here's a question - is there a way to have a certain column stop, then resume again later in the same column? I want to chart the changes in the mod team of an online community because mods were constantly getting kicked out because of feuds and then returning a few months later. I basically want to chart how often they came and left and shuffled around over time.

Hello Eugene
Is there a way to add a vertical line on the same grpah so we can see today's date? it would be a good indication for the project on going status.
Thanks

If you are looking for a simple to use, completed gantt chart template for excel 2007 and 2010. Take a look at chartgantt. ChartGantt has developed a solution using conditional formatting that enables instant change of view (day, week, month) and schedules all 4 dependency types.
