I love my 2016 Q7, it’s the best tow car that I’ve ever owned. Not a serious off reader but nothing else beats it on the tarmac.

I own a A4 TDI ( 2012 reg) now on 128000 miles. Most of the journeys I do ( annual mileage 9-10000) are ones that allow the car to get warmed up and every couple of months I run the engine in 4th for 5 miles ( 3000 rpm at least) or so to get the dpf particles burnt off. Regular servicing will pay dividends in the long term and warm the engine up gently rather than over revving especially on cold days - see it all the time where I live.

Really good and thanks, warranty warranty warranty its a must with all Audis, I have had loads and they been super reliable, but when they go wrong, thank goodness I have the warranty to fall back on

Great video. I own a late 2016 SQ7. Had it since it was 1 year old with 10k miles on the clock. It's a 4.0 V8 TDI version. It had been perfect for 5 years of ownership, but then in the last year we started to do really small 1 mile journeys (school pick up/drop offs etc), 1 year later, had 2 Ad blue repairs in with Audi garage - Ad blue injector pumps, and other ad blue system repairs - spent £2k on it. Before this, was just regular serviving and no issues at all. Car has done nearly 50k miles now. Moral of the story, pay for the extended warranty (or have a great Audi specialist near you!), I saved myself about 2k on not buying 2 years of extended warranty - but had I done so all the work would have been covered plus any future problems....

A mate of mine came up with a sunroof drain unblocker - he tied weed trimmer cable to the roof and fed the cables down the drains...once a week he opens & closes the roof and the movement of the cables clears the drain hoses!

yes it does....love that accent....I love the older q7 like 2008 or 2009 4.3 V8 engine can you make a review of the older models....One thing people dont know these are the safest cars on earth for side collision...so that is safety on side collision

I had a 2017 Audi SQ5 3.0 TDi for a couple of years. I thought i knew what i was getting into. It had "full" Audi history and was well looked after and in great condition but had just done 100k. Problems started almost from day one. It threw the serpent belt off due to the rubber in the bottom pulley wheel rotting (£800). Then injector seals went. Then the rockers covers started leaking oil. All the inlet pipes and EGR had carboned up so need cleaning out. After 6 months i noticed the timing chain rattling on start up (was quoted £3999 Audi independant). That quote was assuming the cam sprockets wasn't worn (another £3999) Then noticed an oil mist/spray on the rear window. Turned out to be turbo seals (£1800). I was advised at the last service to have gearbox + diff and fuel filters done. With the timing chain and cam sprockets, the quote from the Audi independant was over £10, 000. With all the above in the video that could also go wrong, i sold it. Shame as it was a brilliant car to drive. I view myself as a survivor. Ie the one who got out before the shit hit the fan!

I'm thinking of a Q7 my next vehicle and strangely, even though you've discussed a long list of potential faults, your explanations and familiarity of the problems has given me confidence that if I encounter any of the faults then I would without hesitation come to you.

For the adblue part just let it get removed/with software. Same goes for egr … only bad for your dpf and engine. Thank me later 👌

Glad I found this video. I've got a 2015 (new shape) Q7 3.0 TDI, which I bought with 36kms on it in 2018, now has 93kms. Been a great car. However over last three years it has slowly developed a rattling noise from either trans or engine when cold and under load (up a hill etc). The dealer service guys here in NZ (taken it to two different dealer service centres) don't seem to believe me although I've mentioned it at every service (while under warranty and now not...). They 'cannot replicate the noise'. But it is getting slowly worse and is worrying me more and more. It goes away once the engine (or trans) is fully warmed up, but takes longer and longer to clear each morning. Is it about to shit itself? Honestly sounds like an engine running with no oil being pumped around but I'm sure it can't be that or it would have by now I'm sure! Apart from that, its a beautiful car to drive and tow with.

I have a 4M 3.0 TFSi that has been very reliable. It only has 40K km. Only issues thus far has been the upper suspension bushes. The car has been parked for the last 8 months and although it is started every month they tell me things like the soft closure and one touch window closures have stopped working. I suspect the low battery voltage may have disabled these items.

Great video..any specific feedback on the 3.0L V6 Petrol Hybrid engines, commonly used across VW/Porsche/Audi platforms?

Good, informative video, but sound is not balanced properly and it hurts ears on headphones, because music between chapters becomes much louder than voice. Very unpleasant.
