I've been using this knot since I was 5 or 6 years old for my trout lines. My daddy and I went fishing every weekend. Daddy did not believe in wasting money and showed us kids how to use what we had to get the job done regardless what the job was .

I use this knot all the time. I tie my hoodies with it because it slides. Anything I tie around my neck uses it to give me a bit of room in case of a catch-up, and I use it to connect lines together

This is an easy way, but I prefer the loop knot option as well. Length can be adjusted easily with the loop knot.

As far as fishing goes, if it’s saltwater or heavy duty fresh, I’ll spring for an Albright. Otherwise, uni-to-uni it is.
