Capacitors are used to filter stray AC current and noise to ground in a DC circuit. Inductors freely pass DC but act like a resistors to AC. And the voice of my electronic principles teacher from 1999 is saying that I'll never forget "ELI the ICE-man"

Current leads voltage in a capacitor. Voltage leads current in an inductor. So, not the same thing.
Also, capacitors can store a DC charge, whereas transformers (the two coupled inductors you showed) can only couple AC current from one to the other.
Inductors are still used in DC circuits to filter out noise and in tuning circuits to make LC circuits.

Reading the comments on this video kinda makes me not want to post videos on YT anymore.. 😂 But it's good evidence that educational videos are absolutely necessary.

That's such brilliant explanation in the most compact way.

A decent explanation but you missed mentioning how they react to DC which is another opposite

Ok. Now you can explain reactance, impedance, resistance, frequency, and phase angle. Don't forget inter-coil capacitance of inductors, resonant frequency, and while you're at it, go ahead and draw a Smith Chart.

Remember kids: Z = R + jX, X = Xl + Xc, Xl = 2πfL, and Xc =1/2πfC. 😁

Great content!!! Keep this stuff up. This is the same stuff we would discuss in class

Does the inductor store energy like the capacitor does?

By definition an inducer, induces voltage into something, be it a coil of wire, a conductor of some sort

They are not considered opposites they ARE opposites because of phase difference between current and voltage, which cancels out between the two.

That made me drool into my beard a bit..

Inductors and capacitors work differently when used with AC or DC

thank you for this but (and ive been thinking this for a while, but didnt wanna be rude) you need to work on your drawing skills. 😂😎
