They are simply a cake with a very thin layer of frosting, which allows some of the layers to peek through. This technique is easy to make, and better yet, easy to transport!

Semi naked cakes have become a very popular style of engagement and wedding cake, but they can also be used to for less formal occasions, like birthdays.

This cake is made with a 12 inch, 9 inch, and 6 inch tier. I used 8 batches of batter to make this cake.
