In preparation for the North American Total Solar Eclipse happening on April 8th, 2024 - we are excited to try out our new telescope Hestia, made by the company Vaonis.

This video starts with our unboxing and ends with our first demo with Hestia practicing for the Total Solar Eclipse. I supported the kickstarter early and got the Solo pack, so I knew very little about the telescope. This video is also a lot of me learning on the fly - but I learned a lot and happy to share with you.

I just received one of these and I’m so confused. I have no idea what I’m doing! So what I’m understanding with this video is you have to do everything through the app?

Is it standard to not include ANY instructions with a device like this?
I've watched 2 other unboxings. While the unboxer seemed confused with both Hestia
and Gravity there is no comment about lack of what parts are, how to set up the scope, how to navigate the app not even a good luck.
I spent 2.5 hours guessing before I paired the iphone, 13Pro, to the scope.
Only by watching several YouTubes did I know to remove a protective lens film.
I spent another 3 hours outdoors this afternoon, again guessing how to use the gravity app.
I'm a retired dentist and used to sloppy instructions with new equipment, but never a bare product that I had to self explore to learn.
