Even though a lot of people want to get into Harvard just for the name/fame, there are plenty of great colleges and universities that might even be better for you than Harvard. Harvard, Stanford, Yale, etc are all really good schools but there are other good ones as well! I really hope this failure doesn't discourage you. You just have to keep on trying. Good luck!

It doesn't matter the school in my opinion. I went to a small college. Graduated with no debt (they gave Me basically a full scholarship) and I was able to get a job before I graduated because of networking. A school's name is cool but doesn't really mean much in today's society.

Harvard only takes prodigies, people who cured cancer in middle school, and are better than Cristiano Ronaldo at soccer (not really but it’s so extremely competitive that few people get in). My sister applied to Harvard and she was rejected too

You are a very smart person! Harvard is a great school, but it is also a depressing one. Because of how much work they give you are the high expectations. Maybe Harvard wasn’t for you and Penn State was! Anyways Penn State is still very hard to get in so I am proud of you!

I know that not getting into Harvard must be hard, but if there’s one thing I have learned is that it will literally make no difference what college you go to, the only goal is to get good grades and a good career, and u can do that with any college, even if it’s not Harvard :)

Getting into the prestigious colleges like Harvard isn’t just based on your academic achievements they take a lot of factors into consideration before letting students in. Also there is a bit of luck.

I also did not get into my goal university, but I am currently studying in a good one. I'm offered multiple scholarships when I got here-- I'm studying for free and earning money at the same time just from scholarships. So I guess, for anyone who is pressured right now to be in a famous or top tier university, know that there's many opportunities out there :)

I started at community college, got my BSN, and now work a secure job with great benefits, I paid off my student loans in 5 years. My old HS classmates who went to Uni will be paying off there debt at least for the next 10 years... all for the “college experience” which I still got driving down to their campus on the weekends.
