As a Japanese I strongly recommend Yokohama, Minatomirai area.the beautiful bayside city has many luxury hotels providing excellent buffet lunch（including Japanese, Chinese, Italian, etc.） with great view.there is an amusement park Cosmo world that has a big wheel, whithin walking distance you can find Yokohama museum for chill.not so busy as in Tokyo and the sea breeze feels good.

So many of these were on my list. Can't wait to visit (when the funds are there) 2 cancelled trips March 2020 and then March 2022. As a foreigner you were able to get the JR Pass for a week around $200USD (in 2019) and that really does help on cost. I used it to get to all the major cities then when possible to get around those cities on the JR Line. It isn't always the most direct train or bus but for us ballers on a budget who don't mind walking it was definitely a great purchase.
