This video is just to help Visualize how AC current flows in wire, before watching video make sure that you Know what AC current is and how it works.

Hello sir,
Your animation on Alternating Current helped me a lot.
Thanks a million!
Merry Christmas to you sir
And also i wish you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR (2022) in advance.✌✌

If AC current “flows” in both directions, why is there a need to distinguish a live from a neutral wire?

Hi and thank you for your video.

I hope this topic makes sense and you can help.
This is what I understand (please allow numerical approximations):
1. Electrons move in a conductor at a speed anywhere near the speed of light.
2. Electrons gain actual velocity (drift) only when supply is ON. Propagation of EM field is about 270.000 km/s.
3. For DC, drift velocity can be calculated.

Now, am I right to say that, in AC, actual average velocity is zero? That's because in a PERIOD, electrons move back and forth. I could calculate the drift in half a period, but in a period would be zero. Correct? This means there is no actual transmissions of electrons from source to load, right?

Under the assumption above, why we keep talking about "power transmission"? As a matter of fact, there is nothing moving from source to load. Electrons simply move back and forth while performing work.

Also, under the considerations above, can anyone explain the concept of "reactive power going back and forth from source to load" in cases where power factor is lesser than 1?

Thank you very much in advance!

If in a generator, the magnetic field pushes electrons in alternating current, what pushes the electrons located far away from the generator in the wire ?
Plz answer

In order to make a light bulb for example to light up with ac, there must already be free electrons in the wire in order for them to manage to pass through the bulb right? Cause if the direction of the curret changes before the first electrons reach the bulb, it would never light up. Or maybe the electrons travel sto fast that in half a period of time the electrons will have already traveled the whole wire??

Sir agar bulb frequency ke according 50 time on off hoga toh bulb ki efficiency decrease hogi ??

I have a question would you please answer me: So why does the phase meter turn on just by touching the phase meter in the phase wire?

hello so one if that particle lighting dont have to go from - to + right?

I have read that current actually move from negative to positive, why people still believe the opposite way. Or do you have the best answer for this🤔

Bhaiya mai 9th class me aaj mere sir ne current ke baare me btaya ki wo flow of electrons hai high potential se low potential tab toh light 24 hrs rehni chahiye na electrons thodi khatam hote hai jha se electrons ja rhe hai wo high potential kuch der baad low potential ho jaayega toh fir electrons wapas kyu nhi aate low potential pe

When this is the case where every moment phase wire change to neutral and neutral changes to phase and this goes on, then why we differentiate phase and neutral in AC

At positive half cycle, current flows from phase(line) to neutral following the path from higher potential to lower. You put a voltage tester on line, it will beep, on neutral, it wont.

At negative half cycle the phase potential is lower than neutral so current flows in the other direction. So line becomes neutral and neutral becomes line.

But, do you mean that we have supply in neutral during negative half cycle? In this case, why a line tester would fail to glow if it is tested over neutral line at the negative half cycle.
Please explain.

If ac current flows in both direction then our electric fans should also move in both direction ???

These current change both direction with time

Why we are not getting shock when touching in neutral?
