They dont have to notify anyone...and then they proceed to blow the public school scores and grades out of the water.😂

I've been homeschooled for 7 years, and I'm a senior in highschool, and I can tell you, it is the best thing ever. there's so much family time.

People outraged that parents dont notify the state of homeschooling are the same ones who feel the state doesnt have to notify parents that their kid is identifying as trans………

The fact that the vast majority of government schooled children can't read, write or do basic math says why homeschooling is the better choice. Parents who homeschool actually CARE about their children and want them to be functioning adults and not mindless drones.

This is so misleading. I live in one of those 11 states where “no notice” is required, and guess what IS required? 1000 hours of teaching time during the school year for each child from the age 7 to 17. You have to keep samples of their work in each subject and a log book of hours. The state can show up at any time and ask to see those samples and logs, and if you don’t have them, it’s potential child abuse/neglect.

“Notice” requirements have nothing to do with how strict a state is about homeschooling.

I absolutely love how the #1 objection these clowns have to home schooling is "you're indoctrinating your children!"
Oh.... is that someone else's job, is it? 🤦🏼‍♂️

My daughter started homeschooling her kids. It is so much work for her. But her time and effort have proven worth it. Happier kids. And the learning is so enriched

The worst education system in the world should be the number one pro homeschooling argument.

What sweetens the deal is if you aren't sure how to generate a curriculum, there are homeschool communities and groups, there are templates, private tutors, a multitude of resources you can use as a point of reference.

Ok but hear me out. I was a product of homeschool, and some parents genuinely do a great job. Mine did.

But now I’m a teacher in the public school system and I understand why the lack of regulation is a problem. Abusive parents often take their children out of school and “homeschool” them to isolate them from help. Neglectful parents will do
this because they don’t care to wake their child up for school in the morning or want them to parent their younger siblings.

I had a dear friend when I was a teenager who was also homeschooled. Unfortunately, it was because his abusive parents did not want to let him out of their sight. And no one knew what they were doing to him because they went everywhere with him. Not everyone has good intentions.

As a high school senior who has been homeschooled since the fifth grade, it has been incredible to watch the growth of homeschooling in Indiana. In the past years the amount of homeschooled kids has gone up 400%! I’ve seen both sides of the spectrum when it comes to school, and can say, that if you can’t afford to spend time with your kids to teach them how to live life, maybe you aren’t ready to have kids. Obviously there are exceptions, but sending children to public school is practically the same as sending them to a prison full of illiterate pedophiles in hopes that they’ll come out a kind, stable, and educated person.

Okay, so i can speak on a topic, nice. I have been to most school types, charter, public, private, home, co-op, stem, over my school life. I was born in the 90's. I fully admit, my absolute favorite type of school was home school, but, it wasnt exactly good in preparing me for anything. I was one of three kids, the middle, and my parents struggled to find things to keep me occupied. I was the kid who, if given the chance, would wait until the last minute to finish my assignments, because i knew i could finish a weeks worth of work in two hours, no one would check it, and it wasnt worth the effort. I spent probably a good 90 percent of my time reading instead. While homeschooling was fun, mostly because i got to do whatever i wanted since my parent was busy with my siblings, my social development was abysmal. When i moved to public school, i was thrown in the deep end because no one up until then cared how i got my answers in math. I cant begin to count how many assignments i failed because i didnt know how to show my work, i just knew the answers, it clicked in my brain, but i couldn't write that down, obviously.

If homeschooling is done right, then it could absolutely be a great learning tool. If it wasnt, then the kids better hope they can figure out how to swim before they sink.

The guy is wrong. Florida has to check in twice a year for homeschooling. Once at the end of the year with a transcript or evaluation. Then again at the start of the school year stating you are homeschooling.
Love your show-homeschooling mama

Homeschooling can be great or absolutely chaotic based on the systems you have in place for teaching! I was a homeschool kid and plan to homeschool my kids. Make sure you are prepared- it’s a lot of work but can be very rewarding. And always do what’s right for your individual child developmentally and socially.

There are millions who are neither getting their kids to school or homeschooling them in real information.

Why are there so few us of left that don't want to live in a Surveillance Police State. I'll take care of my family, leave us alone.

I’m in PA and his description is grossly misleading. We have to mail a curriculum plan every year to the school district. We have to submit a portfolio to a certified teacher to evaluate at our own expense showing that we have done the proper number of hours in the proper subjects. We have to send dental and immunization records. Students are also required to take tests in 3rd, 5th and 8th grades. That’s far more than just notifying the state once a year.
In addition, school districts harass home school parents with bogus interpretation of rules panicking parents and students.

I'm so glad I live in Missouri and can teach my kids as I see is best!! They're my children, not the governments! Thank you, Missouri!

I’m proud to be in one of the states that doesn’t think parents should “notify” anyone!💖 we don’t need anyones freakin permission either. The fact that the lunatic on TV thinks that’s crazy shows what idiots there are out there

Thats not the problem, the problem is the fringe cases of neglect and lack of any education. While the extreme minority of cases, it still causes problems. They are blwoing it out of proportion though.
