Homeschool Rules for our Classroom || Homeschooling Tips

We have a short list of homeschool rules for our classroom. I'll break them down for you and tell you why they are so important to the flow of our day.

Our rules are: Start at 9am, any work you don't finish by the end of Friday is "homework" for the weekend. (Keeps her motivated to not drag out school days, ha)

my preschoolers 3 rules are 1. Be dressed with teeth and hair done before school. 2. No TV until work is done. 3. Do your best...practice makes progress

Setting expectations is a must! Kids like structure and consistency. Last year (Kinder) I would always put my daughters work in her folder for each day in the same order. She got very used to the routine and this year I couldn’t remember what the order was so I asked her and she could tell me exactly and wanted it in that exact order again! Haha. Little creatures of habit.

I also expect the school area to be cleaned up and papers turned in to “the turn in box” for me to file away at the end of the week.

My daughter loves being graded, she wants marks for every subject and a "report card". (I'm trying to think of an assignment for philosophy that could be graded - any ideas?) My daughter is like your son - she wants perfect on everything, and gets upset if she doesn't, but she's working through it.
