Ben Carson is a living, breathing contradiction. He's was a brilliant neurosurgeon, and yet continues to say things that would keep him from getting a job being the guy who falls in the dunk tank at the fair.

She used the bible as an excuse, but she also had a kid without getting married.

The point he was making is that Marriage is not a right, and that gay people are welcome to be together and he is not homophobic. He does not have an aversion to or a dislike for homosexuals. He just believes that marriage is between a man and a woman and the definition should not have been changed.

Does anyone ever wonder why marriage is still an existent institution in an Enlightened society? If anything, we should be questioning "Why is monogamy a cultural practice" rather than "are LGBT+ people allowed to be married like straight people".
