Ben Carson: Gay rights not the same as civil rights

Ben Carson told Fox News that he was "irritated" by the comparison between the fight for same-sex marriage rights and the Civil Rights Movement because there's no overt segregation against gays.

Ben Carson hit it on the head. Homosexuality is a moral issue, not a civil one.

The difference between being LGBT or being an ethnic minority is that the LGBT always has the option of being overt or covert with their "behavioral choice" in life. However, an ethnic minority never has the luxury of "choice" as they can never subdue who they are before the eyes of others. It is possible for LGBTs to choose to change their "chosen" behavior/sexual orientation at will, but an ethnic minority cannot ever "choose" to change their "physical ethnicity" at will.

My thing is how can a person tell for sure someone is gay unless that person voluntarily offers up that information in any manner of ways. Black people are just black no secret reveal there?

Civil rights are for all American citizens as guaranteed under the constitution. Any American citizen who is denied equal protection of the law, has had their civil rights violated. Minorities do not own civil rights exclusively, all Americans do, including the gay ones.

I love women, even though I don't understand them sometimes! I am happily married, but sometimes I see attractive women and I desire being with them. It's in my nature as a male, I feel an urge from inside. I know I would really enjoy being with more women, but I don't do it because I know it's wrong! How would people view me if a gather a punch of Men who think, and feel the same way, and we go around in parades and marches demanding people that they should accept us just how we are? And anyone that doesn't accept are way is discriminating us! What would happen if we start demanding laws that supoort our male nature?

I have heard many many Black men take this stand ! Many of them were active, in the Civil rights and black power movements, , but they really, wanted, not equal rights, or civil, rights, or human rights, but the same, absolute, power, and control, Racist, Sexist, White men, have held for centuries! They wanted to feel superior and have underlings, who took orders and brooked no resistance to their indomitable, will! They wanted, like the White Man, they criticized, the rigid, authority, to control and oversee, those, they decide are beneath them! They had total disrespect for Women's rights and Gay rights! I see this in Ben Carson and many others regarding, these issues, only their, pride and dignity and issues, matter! We are all Grown up, adult, people, let me live my life and you live yours!

Civil Rights is an issue about and for Human Beings. Gay Rights is an issue about and for Human Beings. Being ignorant is a choice. Ben Carson clearly has chosen to be ignorant. Do research. Learn something. Homosexuality is not a choice. The brain controls gender identification. Biology is a physical manifestation that is not always in sync with the brain. Medical Science addresses this issue. Ben Carson clearly manifests ignorance on this issue and he is a human being that clearly does not understand what gender dysphoria is.

Of course gay rights are civil rights. Gays aren't asking for any special privileges, just the same protection under the law that everyone else enjoys.

As for the first part, I don't know if it's a choice, I'm not gay, I can't speak for a gay person. I don't think it's government or a straight persons place to tell gay people "stop being gay". Gay rights are civil rights, they should be able to get married, order a cake from a certain place, or even pizza, go where ever straight people can go...etc. Being gay is nothing like being a black person trying to get their civil rights, blacks were once slaves, couldn't vote, couldn't run for office, couldn't eat in places, had to use separate facilities, you get the deal(hell some of these people were double oppressed gay and black or triple oppressed gay-black-and a woman!). To compare gay rights to blacks civil rights struggles can in the minds of blacks and other feels as if you're belittling the black plight in this country(yes there were civilizations that were fine with homosexuality and yes there were some that killed homosexuals, but were talking about the united states.) .
