Having called a few different Travel Insurance companies, we're quite surprised at how it changes as we age. I turned 70, yet I'm still as healthy as I was at 50, but because of a number, insurance has risen dramatically. Is it like this for all travel insurance companies, and since we travel from Canada to the southern U.S. during 3 winter months, it's mainly medical insurance we are thinking of, since we have no baggage so to speak, and no flight as our vehicle is insured? For all the years we've paid for Travel insurance (mainly just for medical insurance) we've only needed a single X-ray needed and the cost was minimal, but the $$ made by the companies is huge, yet we get no discount for the previous years of staying healthy and careful to not getting hurt. Of course much has to do with 'risk' but we're all treated as high risk because of our age unfortunately. Some great questions and answers here, thanks for this discussion!
