Here are my thoughts on the book. Hard is not the same thing as bad by Abbie Halberstadt. This book goes beyond motherhood and has lessons in it that can be applied to fathers and life in general. So grab some coffee light pipe and enjoy! #farming #homestead #pipes #coffee #discipline #family #inspiration #motivation #whiskey #fitness #countrylife #parenting

Yup...i live in a national forest, drink spring water from the mountains, opted out of smart meters, no wifi, grow my own veggies, dont use seed oils, eat venison, fish in a clean river, harvest wood to cook and heat my cabin and enjoy great air. I love my life here

lol going back to work would be a vacation out of this. Too much of anything, good or bad, and it will stop to be either to just become boring as hell. I just came back from a whole year (closer to 14 months) traveling the world, no desire to up and go again anytime soon, glad to be back home, back at work, see the colleagues, friends and famuly again. I happen to enjoy my job too, that helps. But no regrets leaving it all for a year either.

That is my dream. In the city, anything is available with a touch of a button or a phone call.

That life you built costs about a couple of million! You're lucky, most average people can't EVER afford that nowadays! Can't even afford to rent anymore!

That's what I said. Make your home like a Spa if that's what you need to get away to.

That’s just what my sister & hubby do .
My 75 year old sister and
her hubby for the last 3 years summers have in their camper van been travelling across Europe .. they going next summer, & so in … they for 4 months each summer live out their gypsy dream .Sis is very talented craft wise; & has embroidered a wall hanging; it shows their camper, mountains, sun, trees, and a great eagle flying in sky through the clouds .. & then the two of them sitting in camp chairs with backs turned by van . . My sis in hand has full glass rose wine, & hubby a pint of cider . I tell you the likeness of the embroidered two, her blonde hair & Dave’s white & his beard he grows while is just remarkable . And then in curvy shaky embroidered writing is their summer motto “ our adventures before dementia” … just perfect . 🦄💜

I'm only on 1/4 acre, but I am fully committed to turning it into a microhomestead. I'll be keeping chickens and rabbits and looking for help to spread out the sustainability bug to the rest of my community. If I could get enough of the right people to help me, we could put sustainable contingency plans in place around our community to ensure that people have access to locally grown/raised food in a hard time. Hopefully, we'll never have to rely on it, but if we do... well, you don't wait to seek shelter until you're already soaked through in a heavy rain storm, do ya? I can see a microburst, but not a regular heavy rainstorm. You can usually always see those coming your way, so you have time to prepare. My end goal is to fill my town with so many edible treas and bushes and yards filled with food that we can support our local food bank, schools (so every kid can eat for free), senior centers, and shut-ins year-round with healthier, nutrient dense, locally grown foods, and still support our own homes. I gained back 60 of 100 pounds that I fought like crazy to lose by having to rely on my local food bank...
Bless them for giving, and because I wish they had healthier options, and I know that it is statistically impossible that I'm the only one who feels this way, it's on me to help to make that a reality. I've already picked out spots in my local park for community gardens. 😂

When everything you do has a purpose but no need, you are on vacation.

There is no life that I wouldn’t want to vacation from. Vacationing is to open your eyes, the world around you in and to experience new things. Not to escape your life.
