5 Mountain Bike Upgrades: Easy Install
After getting a bike, you start to think about some upgrades you can make, this article and video will go over 5 mountain bike upgrades to make you feel more safe, and improve the looks of your bike. Most of these options are pretty cheap and will allow you to show some style and personality to your bike. So lets dig in!

Valve Caps
One of the first mountain bike upgrades you can make is to get new valve caps. You can get a package of different colors on amazon for pretty cheap. It comes with 2 of each color for your front and rear valve stem. The installation is easy, all you need to do is unscrew the one that's on the valve and replace it with the new one. You can accent your bike in another color with some of these other upgrades to make your bike have a two tone look.

Pedals
The second mountain bike upgrade you can make would be to get some new pedals. This might seem like common sense but the pedals that bikes come with are plastic and can break with impact or force if you are jumping. Zip Ties
The 3rd mountain bike upgrade is fairly simple. Changing all the zip ties holding wires on your bike to a colored zip tie. This gives your bike a new and unique look. Once again you can get a package for cheap on amazon or eBay. When you cut the old ones be sure to cut them at the top so you don't scratch your frame.

Water Bottle Cage
The 4th mountain bike upgrade you can make is to get a water bottle cage. Some bikes come with a water bottle cage but most won't. This allows you to get creative, and accent your bike with your water bottle holder. Some mountain bike rides can be hours long, make sure you get yourself a cage to keep you hydrated and ready to ride. You can get these for around $20 on West Michigan Bike and Fitness here!

Lights
The last mountain bike upgrade I'm going to cover is lights. These are another inexpensive upgrade that can save you out on the trail. These are an important aspect when it comes to fixing your bike or riding in the dark. When you are riding on the road having them blinking in the front and back can signal you are riding so cars will give you some room on the road.

Summary
These 5 mountain bike upgrades can be on the cheaper end when upgrading parts of your bike. The great thing is they can change the whole look of your bike while accenting different colors.
