Did you forget the Inarius vs. Lilith fight. She lured him into Halls of the DAMNED and then "slayed" him. She just basicaly corrupted his energy, tore his wings and sent him to hell to prove that he belongs there. Soooo, my assumption is that Inarius will return as fallen angel, he will spread his corruption to other angels and we will fight them all.

I think we have all assumed that Nayrelle is the Vessel of Hatred for Mephisto, buuuutttt I am pretty sure it is going to be us, the vessel of Lilith to defeat Mephisto. How? Well, the season 5 questline really went out of its way to remind us that we carry Lilith's blood, can take on her power, and have a blood borne connection to her -- perhaps not too dissimilar to how Leah was possessed by Diablo, her being his offspring. We also know that there are two pathways for a demon to return - reforming over time in hell, and a host acting as an anchor for the demonic essence.

And then there is the last line of the Rathma's extended prophecy:

I saw a child give birth to a mother, as Hatred’s sun set and that of Terror and Destruction dawned.

Again, most assumed the child is Nayrelle -- but Nayrelle bears no connection to Lilith (the Mother). We do, and I have already established how we can be perceived as 'the child' in this sense in comparison to Leah.

And the Paladin will come in and save us all….

That helm is more so joining Lilith and not choosing a demon or Angel side.
Lilith is a demon but she is on her own side against heaven and hell. Hence why they helm buffs you against both.

I rooted for Lilith through the entire story of D4.

"Leak" means nowadays pretty much advertisement

I've always agreed with Lilith. The game doesn't even do a decent job justifying why we have to kill her in the first place. I really hope they do give us the option.

Here is my theory… someone at Blizzard wanted Diablo to be an MMO with two factions, but knew the community would revolt if they did that. So they released it as an ARPG, and slowly over time, are turning it into what they wanted it to be.

I know many some people don’t care about the lore but they 100% fumbled Inarius. He had so much great lore then they made him look like a simp and totally off brand from established lore and character in D4. I only hope they handle the other Angels better.

We need more bosses. Lots of them, even hidden ones that you have explore to find. I am a barb with three mythics and nothing new to do. I’m just collecting mats to fight the same Uber bosses over and over again.

At the end of D4, my take away when Inarius was killed was that the rest of the Angels dgaf about Sanctuary and humanity. They just want to make sure nothing gets out of hand. Hell, Inarius didnt really care about humanity except as a potential means to an end.
On the flip side, after everything the demons have done, there is no way we decide the demons were the good guys all along.
I'd speculate that in Vessel, with Mephisto coming back, Heaven (maybe just a faction) decides that Sanctuary is a liability and needs to be destroyed. Maybe Vessel is about humanity realizing we cant turn to either side and can only rely on ourselves.

Remember that a few years ago when they first talked about itemization, they had demonic and angelic favor. It was a stat used on gear to unlock special abilities. Making the choice to side with angels or demons was there since the begining. It was more then likely just undercooked and they need more time to figure it out (hopefully in the expansion).

I'm joining the demons IMMEDIATELY if I can choose, Lilith was the only voice of reason in the entire campaign.

And here we are, in a game with angels and paladin class.

I was on Lilith's side for decades, and was GIDDY D4 dropped because the story finally revolved around her. Inarius just wants to go back to heaven and doesn't care about sanctuary or humanity(going so far as to kill his own son he and Lilith had, the FIRST human/nephilim ever, aswell as the first necromancer; who do what? Protect the balance of order, life and death); whereas Lilith came back from the void to save humanity and Sanctuary from Heaven and Hell(and she cried/lamented the death of her son, even stating that even if he wasn't on her side, she still loved him); which was the entire point of Sanctuary to begin with; as a SANCTUARY where Angels and Demons could live together peacefully(and thus were born the nephilim/humanity, and it was INARIUS that took away our power when he saw we were effectively gods).

Heaven and Hell only use humanity as pawns to turn the tide in any given era; they don't care further than that. If all of humanity dies in a single era of the Eternal Conflict; neither side is worried about it.

This was clearly a typo. It was supposed to say 200% dmg to Angels on while frost and frozen at close range on Tuesday afternoon.

we DID do things with the Mother's triune, and earning Mother's Gifts for killing any elites, not just demons during season 5.

Yea... Im sure we will have a choice... just like we had a choice at the end of D4. I was literally screaming at my screen "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!? DONT LET HIM OUT!" and could only watch in horror as my character made the dumbest decision ever...
