Yup i can 100% confirm 3 star Chinese restaurants tend to be the best because my grandpa owns a dim sum place and i always windered why he only had 3 stars🤷‍♂️

Just a heads up, this one and other dim sum places you tried, they’re owned by the same person lol

My grandpa used to work in the restaurant business in Toronto and knows all the dim sum owners in Markham / Scarborough, they all came here around the same time when China had their civil war.

Most of the dim sum restaurants are owned by the same person, there’s only a few main owners and they use different names at each one. Even the waiters are usually all family members of the families that own these restaurants.

Usually you can tell by which steam trays they use, if it’s the same owner they’ll use the same one and they’ll typically make the buns the same.

You know what’s weird is, you look similar to many of my relatives, are you by any chance 3rd generation Chinese, with Cantonese family (your grandparents immigrated here?) it seems like most are related in some way or know each others relatives.
