And now we can watch cats on treadmills during a hurricane. It’s so exciting!

Makes you realise just how unstable things are right now. Nobody knows anything. As soon as we have no electricity, we're fucked.

Imo, you could say no one saw that coming (no free energy in the future) becuz at that time according to Nikola Tesla free energy for all was only a matter of time 😮

Energy issues areas made/artificial- don't get it twisted. In Meriden, CT we voted and built a power plant. Right before our town took delivery of the turbine- the Mayor received a MASSIVE donation from all the heads of CL&P. He then signed a 50 year deal for adjustable rate power. 14 years and that massive building and Uninstalled turbine is sitting abandoned. And what about Enron? We have voice recording of Enron employees intentionally causing the California blackouts so they could charge premium rates/peak rates in off hours. We have the tech, ability and infrastructure to achieve energy stability and surplus. We just don't because of $$$

The amount of information an individual has is directly promotional to the quality of life they can make for themselves.

He's so smart. Sometimes he's a little off... but he makes amazing points all the time.

This because of the limits of physics
and the growing interest of companies to acquire information for commercial purposes.
Progress takes place in those applications and disciplines you spend money in

Finally, Tyson is speaking about something that he has a general understanding.

They didn’t figure that energy will never be free. Ask Tesla

Obviously there's energy all around us, they didn't think people would be as greedy as they turned out to be...

I somewhat agree. Because there is a flying car. And it could be mass produced but I don't think that modern day industry and corporations would make more money halting progress.
Ex. The solar car.

With nuclear power energy could be practically free and dependable

Those who charge for essentially free source of energy saw that coming for sure

And yet, Nikola Tesla found a way to transmit directly useable energy wirelessly. And no, I don't refer to radio-control of mechanical objects. I mean power to illuminate, motivate, or enable objects.
