Nice roundup! A few specific revisions:
1. Sick to either 330/325ci, xi or i. All others really aren't worth it.
2. Buying pre 04 or post 03 changes your cosmetic options as the e46 got a facelift in 04. The difference translates to how you install your front bumper (clips are different), side front panels (headlight fitment is different, but we'll touch that in a minute) and Headlight options.
3. Square setup is GOLDEN. Another option for wheels would be the Apex 8s 17x40-55 (I'm currently running 45 and the handling changes the game)
4. Suspension HAS to be addressed! Bc coilovers (base model) is perfect for all around performance with daily driving. Plan on a Rear end refresh and wheel hubs/bearings all around. $3k on the low end, $5k with BBK all around kit (checkout wilwoods)
4. For body panels it's depends on what year and whether it's a coupe or sedan/wagon, but he's right on the front bumper and rear lip (minus wagons). To add to this, if you want the full m3 look you need to change the side panels. If it's a coupe pre 04 it's a quick swap + hood sub $700. For post 03 it's a little different. You need to find a fitted set of side panels for the facelift changed lights or revert the front end to pre 04. (The biggest problem there is the lights programming).
5. The lights he shows here are for a post 03 sedan. They WONT fit a coupe AT ALL (programming included) you can bypass programming but it's a mission... I'd stick with which ever oem lights that came with the car, but add angel eyes $200 - $300
6. Wrap or paint, but either way its probably gonna need SOMETHING.
7. Rebuild and upgrade the coolant system (aluminum radiator, replace Expansion tank and keep an extra on hand...trust me, aluminum disa flap, m56 valve cover swap (to get rid of the ccv, add aluminum valve cover and metal impregnated valve cover gasket), oil pump upgrade, ATI balancer, upgraded water pump, refresh Transmission, dssr and chassis shifter (should have been this way factory), replace/upgrade all gaskets with viton here oil keaks are possible, replace/upgrade all bushings, Recaro gt seats.

And BANG! NOW you have a reasonably reliable m3 replica with full sized spare. Upgrade exhaust and intake with a re-tune and you get upwards of 250whp - 350whp (with itb conversion)
$15k - $25k

I'd rather throw all this money into the subframe strengthening and power upgrades.

Them halo headlights off eBay for 270 look ok but the stock e46 headlights with a cheap angel eye kit look 100x better and they’re serviceable lmfao

How to ruin an e46 in a few easy steps

you could get most of these for half the price of you were actually on a budget. wheels you can get second hand, 500 bucks will get you a decent looking set. coils, if you are on a budget, you can get a set for 300-400 bucks and it might not be good for track use but will serve you just fine on the road. angel eyes you can install yourself if you feel like they are a "must" and a bumper like that one can probably be bought for 300 ish bucks

$1200 just for wheels - no tires/ alighnment/fender rolling/ no wrap install price😂

“should look similar to this” shows super clean e46 m3 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️

And they actually don't make those headlights for the preface lift E46 those headlights are only available for the face lifted E46 which the ones that you showed in the video were both preface lift which in my opinion is the tougher better looking front end style and that's obviously what BMW production manager's thought to because if you payed attention to the e46 M3 The M3 front end stayed the same as the preface lift

thought this was how it was gonna be with mine, but i was having ccv issues, cooling, gear whine, mounts, clutch, rear subframe bushings, motor ended up catching fire so it was all for nothing..

Subframe left the chat together with the clunking diff and drifting on the coolant leak from the expansion tank and helped by the oil from the oil pan and valve cover gasket.

How to piss off the entire bmw community on a budget should be the title of this video.

Hmmm pre lci e46, recommends lci headlight, show the final result of a pre lci with different wheels and different wrap and says "it should look something like this"

If you don't want to do itbs then checkout his +600 turbo e46 build, it's pretty legit, but add Engine rebuild (honing, balancing, etc.)
