Regarding folks with "...plenty of experience in coding." like rofferjak, I wonder how much experience they have in developong, debugging, and deploying apps in a fast changing environment. Probably not much, or they could recognize this as a basic starting point, and figure out why their code doesn't work, rather than complain about someone else's coding example. This video is a worthy tutorial, with plenty of excellent advice for strating and developing your own apps.

if u find it interesting, then try it. it looks difficult when ur just watching it and not trying to follow along, but once u get all the programs installed and have them up and running, then this isn't as difficult to follow...especially since u can download the entire project from the link in the vid description and run it without having to write any code at all.

do a google search for "wikitude" or "nearest tube". both of these use augmented reality to display information about whatever ur camera phone is taking a picture of. for instance, with wikitude, if u were traveling and wanted to know what something was, u could launch this app on ur iphone and it would overlay images and text from wikipedia to describe whatever ur iphone was pointed at.

wow, great job. Love how it moves so quickly, how did you get the video to go in "chunks" like that... is it just missing blocks of frames? nice effect that kept it rolling along fast, great for a tutorial that covers a lot of ground.

augmented reality detects objects in real-time footage and can display anything relating to that object and follow it around in real 3D space...after effects are effects that u add "after" u film something. if u could do this in after effects, it would be more aptly titled "augmented hours after reality" :-) this isn't a special effect, it's a programming platform.

I don't have errors but when i run it, my webcam doesn't turn on or show up. But only on mine, when i download and use your source it works. I dont see any difference between ours and i followed your instructions exactly.. How do i fix this? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

On Adobe website i press Flex 4 and it brings me to flash builder, im sure these arnt the same things but i could be wrong.

there is loads of problems with this tutorial, but the one that i'm facing is that i don't have SVN checkout, i right click in the "papervision" folder but there isn't anything there apart from the standard settings, WTF!
Some help!
