When I was in Egypt young female travellers would ask me and other guys to accompany them when we left the hostel.
The girls
from the kibbutz where I was would also ask us guys to accompany them in the Arab quarter in Jerusalem.

Was staying at a hostel in Haifa years ago. The roommates were Europeans backpackers. One blonde Austrian said she was going to the Arab shuk. She was dressed very provocatively. My friend and I told her it wasn’t a good idea to go the shuk and her answer was she’s not Jewish so they weren’t going to harass her. After hearing that remark, I told her to go to the shuk and have a good time.

I know this to be true.I have been to Israel 3 times, each and every time I was harassed but never by Jewish people. Always when I visited an Arab place. Even when I ws fully covered up according to the demands of the place where I was.

Although the Egyptian law recently started to change for womens right, but these laws are not applicable because the Egyptian society don't accept the law, and the government itself doesn't care too, it just make nice legislations on paper, to show the west that they're not extremists

I know an Egyptian Coptic Christian woman who fled Egypt because she didn't want her daughter to go through FGM and suffer constant persecution for being Christian

In some Muslim countries, if a man rapes a woman, he can marry her and then he is not punished. as a rule. According to Islam, a woman who is raped is the family's fault for not protecting her

in Egypt (at least in Cairo) they have special public buses just for women because, on the regular buses, they were constantly getting groped and sexually harassed... Barbaric
