Eye Doctor Talks about Lumify

Itchy, scratchy, red eyes is one of the most complicated things to diagnose in ophthalmology because so many things cause the same symptoms. A lot of patients self-medicate with lubricating drops and artificial tears which is fine, but many also do use eye redness relievers such as Visine, Lumify, etc. The problem with these type of drops is that, they can cause a rebound even though they are generally safe to use .It means that the more you use the drops, the more frequently you will have to use them so at the end you will have a worse red eye problem in comparison with what you have started with. Of all the existing red relievers Lumify is probably the best but most expensive as well. Lumify has the least risk of causing a rebound. If red and dry eye sypmtoms persist, please see your eye care professional! 🙏🏼

Hi Dr., for Pinguicula or surfer eye, I am using systane regularly ( 5-8 times daily) helps... but not get rid off the red too much and I was thinking if it is safe using along Lumify? Any recomendation will be greatly apreciated. Thanks

Don't use Lumify, it made my vision blurry and sensitive to light. My vision may never be the same. Warning!
