Why is the GEICO Gecko in Cuphead?

GEICO Angry Birds and Portal are real, but now Cuphead is the focus. In a brand new GEICO commercial, the gecko enters the Cuphead game and faces off against a boss with everyone's favorite cup hero. Why did this crossover happen at all?

GEICO had a recent commercial that featured Angry Birds, along with the gecko's appearance at Aperture Labs in Portal. GEICO's Cuphead adventure is the third one so far, which helps promote The Cuphead Show, along with Cuphead's DLC: Delicious Last Course!

Geico's 1920s/1930s rubberhose animation design looks like the sticker that you see in your car's windshield. He really does fit in the Cuphead universe.

2022 is really doing justice with Cuphead's 5th anniversary.

The reason Cuphead took the risk to have his soul taken for the money is so he can afford to pay his car insurance for GEICO.

Fun fact, the GEICO Gecko was originally designed by a character designer as a character for the '90s Animanacs, but was rejected and was turned into a mascot in 2001. He would have looked more like that if he got in!

If i had a nickel for everytime the Geico mascot did something odd with another property I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Love how cuphead doesn’t even acknowledge the gecko - at the end, he just looks right at you like, “look, folks, it’s a paycheck, need to make ends meet till the dlc drops. Don’t judge me.”

Wait what's a car insurance company mascot doing in a cartoon show for kids?
Well I think GEICO thought it'll give us more recognition to kids so they would become curious is my guess
But that's completly random that they went all out and did that lmao
