Squirrels and bears need food too! Why not make squirrel and bear feeders? *lol*
This reminds me about when going home in the middle of the night about a week ago, I heard a sound of what sounded like birds wings stuck in a sealed and locked space intended for garbage at the outside of a children's day care home... It was a night between Friday and Saturday and I knew nobody would attend that closed compartment until some working day the following week. While I stood and listened thinking about what to do... the sound stopped... It was a few minus degrees and I sooo wanted to save that creature, whoever it was... But I'm not the one going after an axe to tear the thing down... But I felt I need to do *something* or else I could not sleep... So I gave a tip to the Police via their website about it, left my email adress, not heard anything from them...
If 'your' bird was stuck in there for a month, I feel very hopeful about 'my' bird having been saved when the garbage collectors came... but I also think about the differences in temp so maybe he/she froze... At least I did something... maybe next time I will do more...

There is a place here in the nearby where someone used to pour out oat flakes on the ground for the birds. For several days I did see a rat, then two, then many - a whole family of rats - nagging from these bites. In broad daylight and only a little shy... family teaching their youngsters where to find good food...? :-)
And isn't it incredible how rat poisons are used as 'blood thinners' to prevent 'blood clotting' in humans...?
