Intel Iris Xe vs AMD Radeon Vega - Performance comparison

With the technology rapidly advancing, processors are paired with integrated graphics that have more performance. We tested multiple games on both Intel Iris Xe and AMD Radeon Vega graphics and compared the two to see which one is better.

Intel Xe laptop specifications (ASUS Vivobook K513EA):
● Display: 15.3" , 1920 x 1080, 60Hz OLED
● CPU: Intel Iris i5-1135G7
● GPU: Iris Graphics Xe G7
● RAM: 12 GB DDR4 MHz (8GB in dual channel)

AMD RADEON laptop specifications (Acer Aspire 5 A515-45):
● Display: 15.6" , 1920 x 1080, 60Hz
● CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U
● GPU: Radeon RX VEGA 7
● RAM: 16GB DDR4 MHz (dual channel)
● SSD: 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD
● HDD: 1TB SATA 5400 RPM
● Wi-Fi: Intel AX201
● OS: Windows 10 Pro

By the way, you can improve Vegas performance quite substantially by increasing the max TDP in the chip. Most laptops limit it to 15W, but AMD designed the chip for up to 25W no problem. And before someone point out the "extra heat generation", ryzen controller also allows you to adjust maximum temperature in the chip. This procedure has been shown to safely increase game performance in many lenovo, asus and hp laptops without any major drawbacks whatsoever other than increased battery consumption (which is not a problem since everyone is most likely to play only with an AC adapter plugged in).

That FPS of 17 with a max of 20 in Farcry 5 is insane for Iris XE graphics. I have a Ryzen 3 3250U with 2 cores and Vega 3 graphics and manages to pull 20 plus FPS consistently and it is very playable. I have 12Gb DDR4 2400 though, so that might make a difference.

Vega 7 equips the ryzen 5700u, its competitor is the XE with 96 units of the corri i7 and not the XE of 80 units of the core i5.

great video! i'm considering buying the same Aspire 5, but the only difference with the one i'm looking at is that it comes with 8GB Ram. i can't exactly tell whether it's Dual Channel, but is it still a good choice even if it happens to be Single?

Sorry to say but this is not even out. If it was the xe would demolise the vega 7. The xe graphics is running on higher settings that vega 7 because of having a better display quality and the has to render more and the vega 7 is using 16gb ram subtract 4 is 12 gb while the xe is using 12gb subtract 4-5gb ram so it's basically 7 to 8 gb ram

Do note that intel one has 12 gb whereas amd has 16 gb.Still the Amd igpu outperform intel's igpu and also consume less power(watt)

In Intel i5 there was 12 gb right dual channel but mixed up ram memory on other hand in ryzen it was 16gb dual 8+8 so there is almost 30-40% performance boost i would recommend 8+8 on Intel iris xe as my performance was completely different compare to this video
