How does Intel’s new Xe graphics compare with AMD Radeon Vega graphics? I’ve compared the integrated graphics (iGPU) of both in games at 1080p and 720p resolutions to show you the performance differences.

My GPU: here is a still image so you can admire the details, ignore the gameplay.

When some intergrated CPU performs better than your dedicated GPU

"A win for intel" I haven't heard anyone saying that in ages!!

as an amd fan i can say i am glad that intel is trying and fighting back as this pushes bothe companies to push out incredible products

Honestly, I'm really interested in where Intel's going with this, especially their rumoured gaming gpu, imagine a pc build with an amd cpu and Intel gpu.

This is what competition gives, Ryzen 5000 coming tho

Good video as always. You should also consider comparing it to NVIDIA MX 350, to confirm the claims made by Intel about Xe being even faster than MX 350.

Hopefully AMD is watching this and bring out Rembrandt soon!!!

Intel actually did a smart move here, targeting what people will actually do with these thin & light Ultrabooks. Rather than providing huge core counts and raw cpu performance, Intel has sticked with 4 core design but a bigger GPU die to provide better graphics performance. For AMD, getting the highest performing graphics, you need to get the highest performing 8 core 16 Thread cpu which most people probably won't need from a Thin & Light Uktrabook. AMD should release some 6 core or 4 core U series processors with 8 or 10 CU, or may be a 11 CU GPU version to provide a balance between CPU and graphics performance rather than huge core count with a smaller GPU die.

It is extraordinary the level of improvement we see in the integrated graphics arena! It can "unlock" a lot of new and different use case scenarios for the benefit of the consumers and can show how competition can push technological advancement in the industry!

I recently got the XPS 13" with the i7-1185G7 and man, this thing is a beast for how thin and small it is. Definitely not what I'm used to with integrated graphics. I can play enough games that I got rid of my gaming PC and made this my primary device. Also, if I need more I'll probably go the eGPU route, but so far it's not an issue. Great review! I looked this up because of how blown away I was by the performance and you explained /showed it well.

I've been waiting for this type of comparison for some time now. Thank you.

One interesting about this is that if the 11th Gen Intel processors for mainstream laptops is actually as good as expected based on these ultrabook results, then a lot of games might actually become playable with just the iGPU, and at the same time have long battery lives (as long as there’s no dGPU or it’s turned off) allowing for true unplugged gaming on the go.

This is kind of a breath of fresh air. AMD has been rather stagnant on their iGPU performance for ages now, only with incremental upgrades each generation. Hopefully this lights a fire under them.

wow and to think I wrote of the new dell XPS 13 9310. I bought one and am using it to type this out and I got the higher spec the 85g7 w/16gb @ 4267mhz. I bought for on the go editing raw footage and photos but when using some of my software I noticed it performing very well, as on my main system has dual IPS 1080p 144hz monitors and 2700x 4.1ghz w/ 32gb 3400mhz paired with a 3080 is very powerful but I cant take it with me to a friends house or on the go, so to see these results is just amazing, still will not be using a small laptop like this for gaming. great video and very impressed.

Next time you should include TDPs too.

They can make a HUGE difference in performance when used at their max and lowest values, and ultrabooks tends to leave it as low as possible in order to favor battery duration.

i cant afford any of these processors, but i love watching this guys videos.

IMO laptop tests should really have TPD and temp along with results to know if cooling is the limit or if your battery will get drained more
