This was right on time .I had to stop all communication with a guy that was gaslighting, always belittled and complained about the way I expressed myself, tried to be slick with how he used underhanded verbal manipulation in order to control my emotions and my mind, and tried to get me to react, and he even told me that it was “annoying” how I keep repeating things when I comment or give my opinion on situations that HE brought up .It’s the blatant audacity for me .And just the feeling of not being valued and not even trying to understand me as a person .So, I completely just let that person go because if I can’t freely express myself, being a target of manipulation, etc, I choose myself at the end of the day .There are men out here seeking to DESTROY women.It’s a psychological battle and it’s REAL. Dated a man who seemed very nice . REALLY enjoyed his company for almost the whole summertime. Nice sense of humor, generous taking me out to dinner, dancing, the movies lots of long walks on the boardwalk and across the sand by the beautiful ocean. I was taking my time with him ! He was trying to convince me that all I needed to do for exercise is walking. I did have a gym membership. He was trying to get me to start hanging out with a group of women from our workplace that I considered sneaky, catty, haters and I'd told him that. His birthday 🎂 was just before we'd started dating and when I asked him he told me how old he was. Immediately after our phone conversation I told my daughter how old he was on that day. When I wasn't responding to him the way he THOUGHT I'd respond after several weeks he began to show his true colors. Started telling me things ( that group of catty women he wanted me to hang with because he was) negative things they were saying about me. One day I asked him, " and what did you say FRIEND ?" LOL . He just looked kinda embarrassed and changed the subject. Then I asked again how old he was, he gave me a different age than he gave on his actual birthday. When I called him on his lie he got mad and then I didn't hear from him for a couple days. Caught him in a few lies . After a while I stopped going out with him. He called me to walk on the beach as I was walking inside of the gym with my daughter. He got mad and started trying to convince me again that all I needed for exercise is walking. I stopped answering his calls 📱 and ended up having to tell him I'm not going out with him anymore. Of course he got mad and said ok FRIEND then had a terrible attitude with me at work. I said ok COWORKER. So happy I took it slow, paying attention to red flags !! Saved myself so much unnecessary pain !! He no longer works at the same job and I am happy about that too... Take your time ladies, no matter how NICE a man seems !! Don't sleep with him after 90 days lol, you know that rule 👀 pay attention to things he's saying to you and his ENERGY TOWARDS YOU !!

And because I broke up w him based on what was best for me & not because he was a “bad” guy..the brief interaction was filled w so much love & positivity. What's weird is my spouse will flip the tables on me when I confront him about something, go off into a fit of anger, then accuse me of turning the tables on him when he is trying to manipulate me verbally and I squash it. It gets soo confusing.
