I'm Still Standing, he sang. And Sir Elton John is true to his word. This fantastic showman has had a long and glittering career and is as good on stage now as he was when he first started. He has a brilliant sense of humour and has donated many millions of pounds to charity. I met him briefly when I was a teenager and he was very friendly. Charming, actually. You're a wonderful man, Elton. And many millions of fans across the world are overjoyed that you are still standing. Long may you reign!
