Am I correct in understanding that dynamic range is lost in both limiting and compression but differently? Generally speaking a limiter affects mainly the loudest spikes, while a compressor affects the loudest and softest audio signals equally. No?

Pop music lends itself to little dynamic range but orchestra music must preserve, say, parts at pppp and ffff; so I am inclined avoid compression in classical music but use a limiter...sparingly. Can anyone throw some light on this matter?

The True Peak by Brainworx is fantastic. I can't wait to get it under $100. It will be a minute. I tend to use the Bute Limiter on tracks, and Ozone on the master but not always. A lot of people swear by L2 or Pro L.

If your a scratch DJ and are recording your cuts use a limiter when recording it will sound way way better

Can you get a limiter plug in on audacity, and does it automatically limit audio or you got to go in and clip?
