I had long covid. It finally passed after about 6-9 months. Stay hopeful and don't give up.

Dealing with Long covid after getting it in August this year. To say it is hell ...i can only do short walks for up to half an hour, having high protein powders with banana and milk smoothies, I take vitamins daily and eat healthy. Only those who have experienced it can know what it is like. I had a mild case, no need for oxygen or organs shutting down but the fatigue is depressing, cry really easy, to say its a struggle is an understatement.

Energy budget like many with brain injury. 🙌🏼 Rest, meditation, reduce stimulus input (earplugs, hat with brim, shades, eyes closed, sensory deprivation so body can reset). Deep breathing. Listen, feel what body is telling you and full rest in between activities. Energy work ✨ respect the body Self compassion ❤️

Sept 22 had a bypass and a lung transplant. Age 71. In good as shape it could be going as i worked a very physical job for over 50+ years so musicals were toned and was pretty strong for 71.
Went in to the OR weighing around 210lbs. Was a 9 or so hour operation. Then to ICU spending 2 weeks in a coma on a ventilator because the lung was traumatized. Finally after 14 days they able to wake me and pull the tube. Another 2 weeks on the transplant floor and went home. Back in the hospital with pneumonia a week later back home 2 days after thanksgiving. Everything was going a long normally. End of February I came down with Covid. Chills, 104.6 fever, slamming headache, trouble breathing, and a real bad cough. With called the lung center then off to down town we went. I was out of it don't even remember the hour drive. Covid totally rocked my world. Since March iv had no taste, smell and brain fog. Now im a very active person have been my whole life, Hot Rod Cars, grandkids house etc. recovery from everything was going good . Was getting stronger and able to walk a good distance. Went to SC to my daughters and noticed something was off. Came home and I had no energy, got winded quickly, and every day i was finding it harder to get motivated to do anything. Sleep and watch TV and eat that was about it. Headaches, gut problems. Iv lost interest in just about everything. Oh my personality has changed drastically. I get aggravated so easy now it just sucks. Have to be careful about what I take because it can't interact with the anti-rejection meds. So its been 9 months since losing taste, smell and having fog. 5months of couldn't care any less about anything.

keep a journal of what you do and when, brain fog means frustration from misremembering. A minor illness or a fall can use a whole day's allotment, looking into journal can help you see it is not hopeless. Save energy every way possible, sit on a stool in the shower, use a cane ... making it through a really low energy day is still a big deal even if you "just" took a shower and changed clothes. This is life since neuromuscular disease came 5 yrs ago... have given up pushing through as it costs too much, accept showering every 4 days if things are bad.

Long Haul COVID is very similar to Chronic fatigue syndrome and has histamine involved liked MCAS. Both of which are related to mitochondria function and glutathione production. There are a ton of things you can do (and NOT do) to improve these conditions. Diet (and not just "eating healthy") and QUALITY sleep are at the top. Do not drink any forms of sugar, do not eat inflammatory foods like vegetable oils, and avoid flours. Turn off your electronics and wind down at night before going to bed early. Exercise within your limits, even if its just brisk walking a couple times a day. Lastly, take supplements that improve these areas like NAC, glycine, , methylfolate (b-9) and methyl b-12, Omega 3s, certain probiotics, etc. Do this consistently for a couple of months and you will see improvements.

Here in India there is no medical term called "long covid".When I explain my symptoms to my doctor, he told that you are pretending to be unwell to avoid going to office 😢

I’ve been a viral long-hauler for over 13 years and NEVER been able to increase from that baseline. Several others that I know are the same. If you are never able to increase your available energy and can only ever take care of the basics, I see you.

I'm dealing with horrible fatigue after covid damaged my vestibular organ. So basically I have a balance disorder now. I really appreciate videos like this. My friends and family don't understand what I'm going through and I feel depressed to be honest. I still can't work and I really miss it. It has been a year already. I had been feeling better for a while, and I went out for a day with friends. I thought I could do it. Unfortunately I crashed and have been for 4 days allready. But I hope I can return to the baseline. It's difficult when you feel good during the activity, but crash later on. I will watch your other videos too:)

Took B12 energy shot, sipped a little at a time over an hour or so period and worked wonders. Been in covid fatigue for 2 weeks and desperately want to overcome its affect, this really helped

Do not try to pace or out exercise Long Covid. You have to rest, be patient and give it time. BUT, a big but is understanding your own body. The severe fatigue people are experiencing is because the body has switched its energy usage from aerobic to anaerobic, meaning you're operating on high power mode constantly, which drains very quickly. They think this may be linked to the body becoming too acidic and high lactate levels. Which is easy to check and change yourself. I don't believe everyone's symptoms are different, they just appear that way. All the crazy symptoms we experience rotate and come in peaks and lows and are set off by the autonomic nervous system being stuck in panic mode. This is located in your brain just above your neck and has been proved to swell up during infection. The key to understanding this is that the ACE2 binding receptors are located in abundance in the brainstem, lungs and lower intestine areas, and also found in many organs to some degree. I don't know much about the ACE2 receptors role in the body, but it could be viral persistence that causes this. My case was having leaky gut syndrome where the virus crossed the thinner stomach wall into my micro biome resulting in me getting LC. After a year, I suddenly started eating bucket loads of fermented foods, specialised drinks and within 8 days all my symptoms stopped...and I mean everything... from fatigue to brain fog....coincidence, maybe?! But since then, my recovery has been rapid, with very minor minor issues. I'm still having neuro issues. I believe I had a low grade brainstem infection back in Nov for some reason, but even that is shifting quickly now.... the most positive proactive thing you can do is pump your body full of nutrients, more than you need at times... I focused on cayenne pepper, turmeric, ginger, Thaimine, Niacin, Vit D, Vit C.. do not sleep with your window closed, keep it open for buckets of fresh oxygen to get in...do not try cold showers, hot ones only... when you start to get through the week without any crashes then there is a chance you're moving into the recovery phase. So I've gotten this twice, each time I get COVID and get "better" I feel run down for 2 months. My kids don't understand why I can't play with them or pick them up as much as usual. I am just starting to feel my strength return now.
