My favorite bit of foreshadowing is when Elphaba says, "Get stuffed, " when she first meets Fiyero. It's the best Easter egg.

When Idina and Kristen sing their song Kristen’s wand doesn’t light until she clinks it with Idina’s. Like in the story Galinda doesn’t get her “power” until she collides with Elphaba.

I loved how in the Popular scene Galinda throws the ruby slippers to the side since those weren't the original shoes in the Wizard of Oz book. A nod to making things right in this adaptation.

"The Wizard and I" foreshadows a lot of what happens to Elphaba's character. She sings "When people see me they will scream" (which Glinda does when Elphaba scares her at the end of what is this feeling), "There will be a celebration throughout Oz that's all to do with me" (Which happens at the beginning of the movie when they're celebrating the wicked witch's death), and "I'd be so happy I could melt (I think this one is pretty self-explanatory).

I like when Elphaba suggests purple for the road because of Cynthia's great performance in "The Color Purple" but Glinda brings her back to yellow and now.

A little kid running at the start shouts “come out, come out!” Which is the title of Glinda’s song in the original MGM movie.

I think in “one short day” when they have the part of the wizard reading the grimmerie, it sounds like he’s just saying Omaha like the city in Nebraska which makes sense if he’s from Nebraska and also can’t read the book!

This isn't limited to the movie, but in Dancing Through Life, Fiyero sings "Life's more painless for the brainless, " which is foreshadowing to who he later becomes.

The desert that Elphaba runs up to the edge of in “The Wizard and I” is the deadly desert. In the Oz books and return to oz movie it is a desert that turns you to sand if you touch it.

I noticed one!!! Literally the first thing the camera does as we exit the castle in the opening shot is glide to a waterfall with a rainbow.... which we fly OVER, into the first shots of Oz!!!
