Original owner of a 2009 Honda CRV. The maintenance is 100% up to date. Dealer serviced only. 160k miles knock on wood I have not had any major problems. Did change out all of the struts. I loved the car. Gave it to my brother this year (2021). Go Honda.

Good informative video, however, may I offer one small sugggestion ditch the background music. Being a video production specialist while on active duty for the Air Force, we learned real fast, that most of the audience was tuning into the music instead of the material at hand. The others
said the music was to distracting . As soon as I tuned this in, the first thing that hit me was the music, , the rest of the info got lost and or garbled with the information being presented.

My 2007 CR-V has 401K miles and I can't see myself getting rid of it in the near future. My friends and I call it the death trap and miracle car interchangeably.

I am seriously thinking of getting this for my son. Videos like this allow me to do make an educated decision on whether or not to buy the one we're looking at getting.
At the ned of the day I guess it comes down to my own history with Honda. 3 great motorcycles I owned and 3 great cars make my decision making a whole lot easier.
I'm all in for car #4!

I bought my '08 EX-L with 132k miles. I had issues with the VTEC control module and solenoid and it has run great ever since. I'm at 193k miles now!
I had to replace the a/c compressor and the alternator, but I think those parts were past their useful life cycle.

Also, the locks always break on these cars (there's an auto-lock feature that causes a lot of wear and tear, but you can easily turn the feature off as listed in the owners manual) and the cloth seats are more durable than the leather ones.

Got mine with 200K on it and give it to another owner. Its a manual and by the driving you won't feel you are driving a 200K driven car. In fact I used to have 2007 one which conditions was not good but this 200K is runs better then that. I can say if you maintain it well it won't disappoint you any time

I just bought me a 3rd Gen because my 1st gens transmission went out. I love the car, don't get me wrong, but it has SO much less features than my 99. No full spare, no table, horrid back seat capabilities and the seats don't turn into a bed.. reliability is phenomenal and tbh, the thing is a freaking go kart. Probably use the 3rd to tow a break down camper conversion on the first gen.

I have a 08 CR-V EXL with over 227, 000 miles on it. Never do a flush on either an engine or a transmission on any vehicle. I’ve had to have the starter replaced.

You covered all of the issues i have encountered since buying brand new crv in 2010. At 15% oil life i have replaced my oil at the dealership since bought new. Now its burning oil. Even after taking excellent care of it, known issues are something that a car owner cannot avoid by regular maintenance. My crv is 181000 now on the mileage

UK here. Mine has the 2.2 auto diesel engine. I bought the car with 70, 000 MILES on it. It now has 101, 000 MILES on it.
The car has been totally reliable. I am easy on my cars. I don't race around. I'm a good owner/driver for a car to have. That's not saying i poodle around. The car does now need a windshield washer pump. But apart from that it's been brilliant.

Close to 300, 000 kms.
Regular strict services.
Changed only 1 AC compressor and 2 starter motors. That’s it!

My 2011 is going strong at 160k, only issue the car has given me is a leak in the evaporator coil.

A lot problems with the TPMS module unit....
Module can't save the ID learned from the sensors, so this problem it's a common failure.
Five ones just in 2024!

My air compressor went early like around 120, 000kms. Not a lot of other problems so far other than suspension noise in the rear. Starting to throw a catalytic converter CEL warning, mechanic says its due to exhaust leak at the flange. Time will tell. Car has nearly now. I drive a 2011 AWD

My 2007 just hit 300k, its so solid I got a used 2009 to swap parts back and forth on. Both still drive and shift amazing. I got the stut bar noise but honestly doesn't effect the driving.

I like this information, but it would be so much better without the (too loud) “background” noise/music.

Why do you list basic maintenance issues as common problems?!! I'm talking about the starter and basic fluid changes.
