We BROKE Yu-Gi-Oh! with a NO BANLIST Duel! -- feat. @JoshuaSchmidtYGO

The banlist is an integral institution in Yu-Gi-Oh!, and without it we'd be drowning in cards that are unfair, sacky, and most importantly, BROKEN!But what would happen if there was NO BANLIST? Adam and our guest, @joshuaschmidtygo, battle it out with the most broken cards Yu-Gi-Oh! has to offer, to see whether or not you can play fairly in the presence of the most powerful cards of all time.

As a newcomer, watching people play Yu Gi Oh is indistinguishable from watching people play a parody of Yu Gi Oh

Joshua looks so happy being able to summon Toad again.

I love that YuGiOh cards thematically have things like "a frog", "people running about" and "that guy" on one end of the spectrum and "Supreme Fire-Steel Dragonlord Karnath of the Abyssal Dark Realms of Death IV - Dark Phoenix Form" on the other end and the grandiose-ness of the name gives no clue as to which is the stronger card. :D

Its ridicilous that even in no banlist format maxx"c" seems super ultra broken compared to the other banned cards, yet somehow its at 3 in masterduel and ocg.

"If he doesn't have anything, which he mightn't" might be my favorite quote ever

I love that finally someone plays "Yu-Gi-Oh!" the way Kazuki Takahashi intended.

YESSSS! Other ideas for the no banlist:

- Attributal
- archetypal
- Type locked
- Highlander no banlist

Imagine my shock that no banned list YGO decks are super complex combo contraptions, where most of the skill seems to be understanding whether you are dead or not yet.

In the OCG, I believe that Victory Dragon Tearlaments was one of the strongest decks in no banlist. I'm not sure exactly what the OCG's rules on scooping (to Victory Dragon) was, but I heard that either you're only allowed to scoop on your turn or your opponent must accept your forfeit for it to count?

Frogmonarchs was my favorite back in the day, seeing all these new mechanics with frogs is crazy.
