There's a possibility that Zane's record was never even a record. In Yugi vs Strings, Strings had a minimum of a 35 card hand while Slifer was on the field, putting it at 35k atk. Strings only used 10 cards in the duel prior to that moment, so either Strings was randomly playing with a 45 card deck, or the animation team just didn't show us the entire revival jam loop, and Strings 'broke' Zane's record before he even set it.

To Everyone mentioning Infinite Attack from the Orichalcos Duel: THAT DOESN'T COUNT CAUSE INFINITY IS NOT A NUMBER!! It is a Concept, A Philosophy if you will. Same thing with Zero!

I think the reason he didn’t set his two ring combo cards is because Noah had shown to use spell and trap removal so he was probably waiting for Noah to not have many of those cards at the ready. Remember this is still early yugioh where destroying multiple cards in the same turn is rare.
