The 4.6 is so slept on, it is a seriously good motor and can take all the mods he just listed with relative ease. There is a reason these were police car engines.

TL:DR; A tuned 4.6L combined with weight reduction is the route to take.

Keep in mind the Konigsegg CC8S used the exact same 4.6L modular V8, but in the 4-valve, DOHC configuration, and it made well over 650hp. The crown vic is also 700lbs lighter than the Hellcat, so you’re honestly better off putting the tuned 4.6 in there, and keeping the weight down. You could put a 5.0 in there, but the 4.6 is 80lbs lighter, and generally more reliable. Another advantage of the 4-valve 4.6 is that it uses the exact same headers as the 2.3L ecoboost, since the 2.3L four banger is essentially a 4.6L V8 that was cut in half. Thus, parts are much cheaper.

I inherited a 2002 CNG Crown Victoria from my dad, and I love the thing. Since it runs on fuel that is already in a pressurized and gaseous state, it’s a piece of cake to attain higher compression even with stock intake. I put 4 valve headers on and got everything re-tuned, and I squeezed 400hp out of the naturally aspirated 4.6L V8. I’ve only driven it for a year, but one thing I’ve noticed is that both the 3.55 and 3.27 rear axle assembly can’t really handle more than 500 ft-lbs of torque. The driveshaft and universal joints can, albeit barely, but the pinion shaft bearings and axle shafts simply can’t handle that much rotational force. It’s drivable, but if you floor it and the wheels don’t spin, you’ll be putting far more strain on the axle assembly than it can handle. My advice is to prioritize lower weight, better handling and weight transfer over net horsepower. Replace the steel frame and body with carbon fiber, except on the far rear, and get all aluminum shocks, coils, control arms, and a custom made rear axle. One guy got his crown vic down to just 2, 300lbs, and the thing had 450hp, 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. It could not only smoke a hellcat, but it’s handling was absolutely insane due to the wide track and long wheelbase.

Best part about the Ford Mod Motors is that some of the parts are interchangeable throughout generations. You’ll spend about 8k on that swap if you do most of it yourself, if you can find a good CNC shop to machine you an adapter plate to fit up a T45/T5 or TR3650 which ADTR makes a direct bolt on kit for for the Panther Platform, build your internals on the transmission, build your rear end, and throw some 275s on the rear (the factory car is wide asf and you can fit 335s easily by rolling and pulling your fenders) boom you got a sleeper.
Also, if you do have a Panther Body ADTR is the go to for aftermarket parts for them!

Don't forget to upgrade the suspension. Buy you some Eibach drag springs and a set of Monroe or KYB adjustable Quad Shocks then upgrade the brakes to a Set of Brembo 4 or 6 piston Calipers and a set of Slotted Rotors then put a water methanol injection system on this and if running the 4.6 do the E85 swap if it's the coyote you ain't gotta worry bout this. Then get a set of Nitto Drag Radials on the back change the rear end to a set of 3:73 or 3: 55 rear gears out a mustang gt and get you a set of shorty headers or long tubes with either a off road H pipe or x pipe no Catalytic converter a set of flowmaster 40 series mufflers and if ur not running a super charger or turbo get a Zex computer controlled wet nitrous system use the 250 shot and hit the streets.

4.6 can go high as hell. Same basic architecture as the 5.4, which if you are unaware HOLDS THE STREET LEGAL TOP SPEED RECORD AT 310 MPH 2 WAYS. On a 2 mile runway, which is not nearly long enough for such a run. Very underrated platform.

I love these videos! I just wish you’d do more swaps that include AWD. (For us in places where it snows we can’t drive rwd in winter. Tried with a 06 g35 coupe and got stuck left and right) my Audi tts is a 2..0 Quattro with 357hp currently. Shooting for 500+ before the first snowfall so like November or December. I couldn’t imagine an LS swap in my tiny car!! It would be

4 valve heads and a tune would do a lot for the Vic. My dad used to build mustangs and he preferred building 4.6s over alternative motors because of how they responded to superchargers and nitrous.
